Joined Up Business Development
Business Development means different things to different people. To us it means a combination of our 5 core skills: Sales, Traditional Marketing, Digital Marketing, Networking and Search Engine Optimisation – but what is the most important word in that list? The most powerful word is also the smallest word……’AND’.
When developing our businesses we need to be doing all of the above, not just choosing the bits that we like best or that are easiest. In too many organisations, somewhere along the line, an even smaller word creeps in and that is ‘Or’. The whole idea though is that we have joined up business development, not pockets of unrelated effort as that just wastes time, effort and above all money. What we want is a snowball effect of all the work we do, we want synergy created due to us having a coherent, consistent message that we continually shout out to clients and potential clients.
If we achieve this what are the benefits to our organisations? One benefit is that you can tell your maths teacher that they were wrong……if we can really get all our business development streams joined up and consistent we can say that 1+1+1+1+1 = 7 – the whole is so much greater than the sum of the individual parts.
Joined Up Business Development
This was the exact reason that The Last Hurdle was founded – we are business development specialists with expertise in all five core skills of business development.
