New Facebook Create Call To Action Button
What a difference a small button can make! The new Facebook ‘Create Call To Action’ button on Business Pages is a tiny feature with huge benefits.
On your business page, just above the cover image, you’re used to seeing options like Like, Message, and More. This week, Facebook added a new option—Create Call To Action. This simple button allows businesses to guide visitors towards taking a specific action on their website or app, with options to encourage people to shop, book appointments, play games, and more.
Here’s how to make the most of it.
Adding a Call To Action
When you click on the Create Call To Action button, you’ll see the following prompt:
Add a Call-to-action Button to Your Page. Make it easy for people who visit your Page to take a specific action on your website or app.
You can choose from the following actions:
- Shop Now
- Book Now
- Contact Us
- Use App
- Play Game
- Watch Video
If you don’t have a tangible product to sell, avoid selecting Shop Now—instead, opt for something more appropriate, like Contact Us or Watch Video.
Next, you’ll input the website you want visitors to be directed to, as well as a mobile-friendly link if it differs. If you’ve chosen the Book Now or Watch Video options, make sure the link goes directly to the booking form or video. Don’t make people search for it—they won’t. They’ll simply bounce off your site.
Once you’re happy with your selections, click Next.
Mobile User Settings
On the following screen, you’ll be asked how visitors using iOS (iPhone or iPad) will view your site, followed by the same prompt for Android users.
After making these selections, click Create—and that’s it! Your call to action is now live on your business page.
Tracking Your Call To Action
Once your Call To Action button is active, a new metric will appear on your Facebook Business Page stats, located to the right of your cover image. This allows you to track how many people are clicking on the button and engaging with your call to action.
Experiment with Your Call To Action
As with any new feature, it’s worth experimenting to find out what works best for your audience. For this exercise, I started with a simple Contact Us button, but I plan to switch to Watch Video—a far more engaging option. What will your call to action be?
