Featured below is a recent article from The Business Times for their Developing Northamptonshire feature. MD, Jules White talking about how important it is to be able to do for yourself, what you say you can do for others. Would you trust a dentist with rotten teeth or an accountant with unfiled records?
Developing Northamptonshire
I think it is a combination of being able to talk the talk and walk the walk. First doing for your own business what you maintain should be done for others. I also think being selective with your clients, colleagues and associates is key. I haven’t been afraid of turning work away where I don’t believe the fit is right. Life is too short to be unhappy in your work. I love what I do, it’s what makes me tick!
So with the cliché of talking the talk and walking the walk enough of a literary crime, I thought I would let our oldest client do the talking for us; Ann Brebner and Claire Elliott from Time For You Northants have been a client of mine from the very first month, even before I knew what the business offering would be! I started by training Ann in social media marketing, which rapidly grew into me doing it for her. Three years later we now take care of 2 websites, social media marketing, database implementation and customisation, adverts, content writing, newsletters, blog writing, email campaigns, photo-shoot management, SEO….. And here is how these successful local business women describe the experience (ordeal):
After working with Jules on the social media training it became apparent that we were neglecting the development of our business. Working with Jules has allowed us to progress to the largest Time For You franchise in the UK. When you’re busy working in the business you don’t allocate the time to working on the development especially when you are busy. The accountability side of our relationship has been key to our growth. I highly recommend an hour with Jules, she is straight talking no-nonsense and totally focused on your business!
